Today I harvested the rest of the Provence and the second Grosso plant. Two more Grosso plants and I will be done with this year’s lavender harvest. I love the smell of lavender in the house. As I was getting the Provence ready to hang to try, Dave walked into the kitchen. “Sure smells good [...]

It’s been real smelly around here lately. I’ve been harvesting lavender. I harvested Dilly Dilly in Dave’s Butterfly Garden and couldn’t stop singing “Lavender blue dilly dilly, Lavender green dilly, dilly …” Dave hadn’t heard of the song sung by many, but the one I remember was by Burl Ives. I couldn’t believe all of the Cardinals at the feeders. They stuck out against all of the snow.
I love making these gifts from our garden and there is even some left for me to enjoy!

I’ve been taking pictures as long as I can remember. It started with that small Brownie box. I graduated to the digital age when I bought one of my Macs in the early 90s. The digital came free, but didn’t have a flash. I didn’t care since it was digital – instant gratification.
