The iris count continues. You would think I’ve never seen irises as excited as I get to see what’s blooming in the yard. Here are the next four that have bloomed in the last couple of days.
#5 is a Tall Bearded Iris with light yellow-edged white falls and standards and yellow beards.
#6 is an Intermediate [...]

I love ETSY. It’s such a great place to find handmade goods. I wanted to find some nice soap dishes to give as presents with our soap this Christmas, but also to use here to help prevent these soaps from melting away in a pool of water. Before checking out ETSY, I had found several [...]

It’s amazing what a little rain will do in the garden. It finally rained some yesterday and last night amounting to around an inch. The next batch of rain may come with severe storms. I’m hurrying to get this posted before those storms show up.
I took my daily stroll around the grounds to see how [...]

I will be tagging all of my irises this year. In the past couple of years I’ve tried doing this with a variety of different tags and they all pop out of their location after the ground froze. Dave bought me some nice tags to use this year. The only problem was there were only [...]

I continue to get excited about everything blooming here. I stopped by the cherry trees to see how they were doing.
I continued on to the blueberries. Looking good!
The lilac bush has bloomed the best since we’ve been here thanks to a little tlc from hubby.
Then the tulips out front have come alive.
Check out other garden [...]

I know I have complained about the previous owners who did very little yard work here at Happy Acres. However, there is an upside to that. Due to their lack of interest in the outdoors, we have lots of plants to divide for the annual SWIMGA plant sale coming up May 1 and 2. These [...]

When we moved here in late May 07, I really didn’t have time to keep track of what was blooming. However, I did notice we had several different bearded irises. Evidently one of the previous owners was an iris lover who has blessed us with some beauties and also started me on the road to [...]
